Core, peel and chop the apples. Sprinkle with five tablespoons of sugar and two teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix and put aside.
Mix two cups of sugar and all the other ingredients-(except the apple mixture) in a large bowl.
Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured 9” inch form pan. Sprinkle in half of the apple mixture, them pour in the remaining batter. Then sprinkle in the rest of apple mixture.
